Thank you to all that attended the Mercy: the Heart of Peace, an Interfaith Meeting of Prayer for Peace, which continues the movement that has inspired many men and women of religion to gather together to pray for peace since the first meeting, called by Pope John Paul II, in Assisi in 1986.
Thirty years after the first meeting, the Spirit of Assisi reaches the West Coast of the United States in the Diocese of Oakland. The Meeting will embody the message that peace lies at the heart of religion, and that believers are called to be peacemakers and instruments of mercy.
